To complete your Paint by Numbers kit, all you really need is a cup of water and a paper towel! However, many of our customers love adding a few professional accessories to elevate their painting experience.
Here is a quick guide to our two most popular accessories: the Easel and the Varnish.
1. The Wooden Easel (For Comfort & Posture)
Painting on a flat table for hours can sometimes cause neck and back strain. An easel props your canvas up at a comfortable angle.
- Benefits: It improves your posture, prevents neck pain, provides a better angle for lighting (reducing glare), and makes you feel like a true artist!
- Important Note: An easel works best if you purchase a [Pre-Stretched Canvas / Framed Kit]. If you buy a "Rolled" (no frame) canvas, it will be floppy and cannot stand on an easel unless you tape it to a hard drawing board first.

2. Acrylic Varnish / Sealant (For Protection & Shine)
Varnish is a clear protective liquid applied over the surface of your painting only after it is 100% dry.
- Why use it?
- Protection: It protects your masterpiece from dust, moisture, and UV rays (preventing the colors from fading over time).
- Color Pop: It deepens the colors and brings out the contrast.
- Unified Finish: Different acrylic colors sometimes dry differently (some matte, some glossy). A coat of varnish gives the entire painting a smooth, unified, professional finish.
- How to apply: Wait at least 24 hours after finishing your painting. Use a wide, soft brush to apply a very thin, even coat of varnish. Let it dry, and you're done!
